In honor of 5 years of Whispering Pines, I decided to press our first raw pu-erh cake! I have been sampling raws from various growing regions and villages for the past 3 years preparing for our first raw pressing, and year after year, this particular tea caught my attention.
From high in the Wuliang mountains, Silver Fox was picked in spring 2016 from small-leaf old trees growing entirely wild. The brew carries an immensely strong aroma of orchids and wildflowers with a vibrant, clear, and rich flavor bursting with sweetness and mouthfeel akin to a great chardonnay! Cha qi is strong and clear.
Brew gongfu style with 190ºF water. Easily surpasses 15 infusions!
