PLEASE NOTE: This tea is sold by the 1/2oz! The price above reflects this. This decision was made to allow more people to enjoy this high grade green tea!
This is only the second time I've been able to secure this tea, last time was in 2015.
This tea is grown in the high mountains (~1000m elevation) of Henan, China and is the highest grade of Xinyang Maojian available anywhere! Tested EU MRL (European Union maximum residue limit for pesticides) compliant. Very limited supply and immense demand made this a very difficult tea to obtain, and I was only able to secure one kilogram! Beautifully fresh aroma and extremely sweet, clean flavor with hints of artichoke, spring air and a cooling sensation that feels somewhat like rosemary to me. A light nuttiness and vibrant almost fruity characteristic is also present. A really enjoyable gentle bitterness is noticeable and helps to ground this "airy" tea. Strong cha qi!
